Agaranoch is a wondrously empowering and revitalizing type of spirit known as a Shadow Hydra. He appears within the mind’s eye as an epic beast resembling a gargantuan black sea serpent with many heads and tentacles. His form seems to be made up of living shadow—black, ethereal, and fluid in nature. Varying portions of his being appear to constantly shift in and out of materialization with solid onyx scales suddenly slipping into liquid blackness and vice versa. His eyes shine with bright electric blue light that starkly contrasts his otherwise utterly umbral form. The impressiveness of his presence is impossible to describe. Agaranoch is an embodiment of the dark, churning essence of the Void itself.
Due to the mutually empowering dichotomy of his very nature, Agaranoch is an incredibly potent ally. His calling is twofold. First, he is called to serve a Keeper who is seeking to let go of aspects of the past that are currently holding him or her back, even on an unconscious level. Being a creature of the Void, he is extremely gifted with subtractive magick. As such, his first focus is the removal of unwanted and/or limiting factors from his Keeper’s path in order to allow the full force of the preferred aspects of life to flow without obstruction.
Second, being a Hydra, Agaranoch has also been called to empower his Keeper with his extremely potent regenerative ability. If and when Agaranoch is damaged in any way, his wounds close and seal instantly, leaving him even stronger and more resilient than before. If one of his many heads or tentacles is severed, two more grow back in its place. This essence of extreme fortitude, vitality, and new growth are a perfect complement to the subtractive side of his being, making the Shadow Hydra one of the most self-sufficient, balanced, and empowering types of creatures around.
Through his dual attunement to both the Void and the Principle of Life, the source of all vital energy in the Universe, Agaranoch will be able to bestow the benefits of a constant flow of Life Force as well as the clearing out of extraneous and conflicting elements of your being. Agaranoch’s vessel is a striking stainless steel and black onyx pendant, measuring approximately 1 ⅞” long including bail. A free silver-plated 20″ snake chain is also included to get you started, but the pendant can be moved to your favorite necklace chain or cord for normal wear.
